Our life journey, illuminated by meaning, becomes a pilgrimage : connecting us to our inner self, to each other, and to what is sacred in the world. JL.

‘In sacred travel, every experience is uncanny. No encounter is without meaning.’  Phil Cousineau ‘The Art of Pilgrimage’

'The Time Of Your Life' lyrics by Randy Newman in 'A Bug's Life'
'Isn't it a bit surprising
How one's fortunes ebb and flow
And only to the enterprising
Does the magic fortune cookie go
Believe me
It's the time of your life so live it well.'

Gift shopping: It's the thought that counts!

Talisgirl Charms Thoughtful Gifts-pansy charm in silver and enamelIt's the thought that counts, without a doubt, but the real art of gift shopping is to find a thoughtful, timely, appropriate and quality gift for a specific person.

A thoughtful gift is something that says to the receiver that they have been seen, heard and valued.

Find gifts that reflect the individual in some particular way: refer to something they told you, something they've done or are wanting to do, something that suggests a new way of looking at an issue that is current in their life.

And for goodness sake make sure it is also good to look at!
Take a look at my collections according to a few of life's big themes, and see how easy it is to put the thought back in to gift giving.
Pictured above are my home grown pansies, a thoughtful Japanese Kokeshi doll, and a lovely solid sterling silver and purple enamelled Pansy charm from the collection: pansies being the symbol of thoughtfulness itself.
