AFRICAN ROLLER (LANGAZANA) charm ● 925 silver ● glass enamel ● resolution of inner conflict, peace, courage, reconciliation, redemption
An African symbol of peace, the spectacular, acrobatic Lilac Breasted Roller is a symbol of reconciliation: it asks you to take ownership of your life journey, to let go of what is no longer constructive to your well-being. We must sacrifice our (glamorous) conflict and ‘bury’ it in order to become free to move forward.
The Lilac Breasted Roller’s feathers were exclusively for royal use as a ‘redeeming’ symbol in a traditional Southern African peace ceremony. The Langazana [bird of the sun] was sacrificed, buried, and the sanctified blood of the bird symbolically purified the conflict. An African Roller talisman carries a courageous heroic quality: Only you have the power to sacrifice an idea for the sake of your own inner peace. JL.
